The DSU Heritage Foundation’s annual Yuletyme event once again demonstrated the power of community, bringing together donors, students and volunteers to support Dickinson State University scholarships.

The two primary goals for Yuletyme were to sell out the event and raise $125,000. Both were exceeded. The event sold out nearly one month in advance and raised $150,000, with all proceeds benefiting DSU student scholarships through the DSU Heritage Foundation.
“Seeing this event come together year after year is incredibly rewarding,” said Haylee Culver, Yuletyme Committee Chair and DSU Heritage Foundation Board President. “This group of 20 volunteers and campus partners worked tirelessly for months with one goal in mind, raising scholarship dollars for DSU students, and I could not be prouder of what we accomplished together. This is truly a dream team.”

Yuletyme is the foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year, just ahead of DSU Give Day in November. Planning begins early, with the first committee meeting taking place in January, allowing months of preparation and coordination.
A key goal of the event is to give attendees an inside look at what it is like to work with DSU students. Heavy student involvement creates meaningful opportunities for donors and scholarship recipients to connect.
More than 150 student workers assisted with Yuletyme, representing multiple campus organizations. The DSU Cheer Team helped decorate the basement, run games, assist with valet services and kitchen support, provide sober rides home, and help reset and clean the BAC following the event. TRHLP members assisted with moving auction items, setting up the main concourse, serving as VIP servers, and helping clean up suites after dinner. FBLA served as the event’s coat check team, while the Theatre Guild designed and built the themed basement decor and welcomed guests throughout the night. DSU Baseball assisted DSU HF Gaming with raffles and games on the main level.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by our community,” said Ty Orton, executive director of the DSU Heritage Foundation. “Yuletyme is a powerful reminder of how much Dickinson State University means to so many people, and the generosity behind this event makes a lasting difference for our students.”
Students remain at the heart of Yuletyme. Their involvement not only ensures the event’s success but also allows donors to see firsthand the impact of their generosity and the opportunities their support makes possible.
