DSU HF Staff Spotlight: Kyle Smith ’11 – Serving DSU and the Community

The DSU Heritage Foundation is proud to recognize staff who go beyond their roles on campus to make a difference in the community. This month, we’re highlighting Kyle Smith ’11, Development Officer for Rodeo and Athletics, for his recent service as President of the Dickinson Rotary Club.

Since joining the DSU Heritage Foundation in 2021, Kyle has played a key role in advancing support for Blue Hawk rodeo and athletics. His ability to connect with alumni, donors, and supporters continues to strengthen the Foundation’s mission.

“One of the things that sets our team apart is a genuine investment in our community. Kyle’s leadership with the Dickinson Rotary Club is a perfect example of that. He brings the same focus and integrity to his role at the Foundation, and we’re proud to have him on our team,” expressed Ty Orton, Executive Director of the DSU Heritage Foundation.

Outside of DSU, Kyle recently completed his term as Rotary President, where he helped streamline meetings, encourage participation, and keep things engaging with his trademark “Random Ramble” quotes. His leadership brought renewed energy to the group and reinforced the value of consistent, community-focused involvement.

As the Rotary Club enters a new year with incoming President Joy Schoch and President-Elect Jeremy Berger, we thank Kyle for representing both Dickinson State University and the community with commitment and professionalism.

At the DSU Heritage Foundation, we understand the importance of community engagement and supporting those who invest in the people around them. Kyle’s work is a strong example of that connection in action.
