Donor Spotlight: Janice Lundstrom on Helping Students “Do DSU Proud”

Janice (Jan) Lundstrom was first introduced to the DSU Heritage Foundation (DSU HF) while accompanying her mother to DSU alumni events. After her mother passed away, Lundstrom worked with the DSU HF to continue a scholarship previously established in honor of her sister and to add one in honor of both her parents.

Lundstrom enjoyed the atmosphere and people at Dickinson State University during her mother’s alumni gatherings so much that she continued to attend events, as “they were more fun than the events of my own alma mater.” Her favorite DSU events are brunches and spring training games.

“What stands out most to me is the heart behind Janice's generosity. The joy she finds in hearing from scholarship recipients speaks to a donor who truly understands the power of connection and compassion," said Ty Orton, Executive Director of the DSU Heritage Foundation.

Lundstrom delights in receiving notes and letters from scholarship recipients who share their life and career plans, made possible by DSU HF donors like herself. “It is heartwarming to imagine that our little scholarships are helping them achieve their goals,” says Lundstrom. She hopes each recipient of a DSU HF scholarship finds fulfillment in their lives and their careers, and that they “DO DSU PROUD.”
