Lico Sifuentes ’08 and Jordan Sifuentes ’14 created their business, Blue Hawk Lawn Care, to give back to their alma mater. Lico spent his time at DSU as a football player, while his cousin, Jordan, served on the DSU Student Senate as President. “As scholarship recipients ourselves, we know the importance of scholarships. We wanted to give students the same kind of help that we were fortunate to receive,” said Jordan. The primary purpose of the Blue Hawk Lawn Care Annual Scholarship is to lessen some of the financial burden on students, enabling them to focus on being their best and carry that momentum into their careers and communities.

Lico and Jordan lead by example, running Blue Hawk Lawn Care with the belief that working hard and completing tasks the right way, not the easy way, is essential. They hope to see scholarship recipients show the same tenacity and work ethic, and always enjoy seeing the excitement and appreciation of their scholarship recipients. “The Blue Hawk Lawn Care Annual Scholarship has provided continued support to our students, and we are grateful to have DSU alumni like Lico and Jordan share their success,” said Ty Orton, Executive Director of the DSU Heritage Foundation.

Currently, Lico and Jordan support DSU students through the Blue Hawk Annual Lawn Care Scholarship, which benefits DSU athletics, the C&L Enterprises Annual Scholarship, which supports student-athletes from Gillette, Wyoming, and the Blue Hawk Touchdown Club.
