On Tuesday evening, December 3, Dickinson State University’s Dorothy Stickney Auditorium was filled to near capacity as the community gathered for A Magical Medora Christmas.
The musical production featured a blend of classic holiday songs, contemporary hits, and captivating performances by cast members from the Medora Musical.
A Hometown Star Returns
One of the highlights of the evening was the performance by Dickinson State University alumnus Damon Fichter, a 2015 graduate now based in Nashville, Tennessee. Fichter, who graced the DSU stage as a student, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform once again in Dorothy Stickney Auditorium.
“This was truly a full-circle moment for me,” Fichter shared. “It’s an honor to return to Dickinson and share this milestone 10th anniversary of A Magical Medora Christmas with the community that has meant so much to me.”
Fichter showcased his incredible versatility, performing on drums, trombone, and piano, and delivering a moving rendition of I’ll be Home for Christmas that resonated deeply with the audience. Beyond the music, the event reflected Fichter’s passion for supporting local arts and theater. “The energy and togetherness of this night embody what the holidays are all about,” he said.
