It was an exciting day at the DSU Heritage Foundation (DSU HF) as staff and students came together for the annual DSU Give Day. Starting before sunrise, the DSU HF led a breakfast drive and quickly raised $41,360 by 11am. The lunch drive that followed pushed donations well past the halfway mark to $77,456.86. The grand total of all donations made to the DSU HF to support student scholarships came to $112,289.90, well surpassing the $100,000 goal.
"Give Day is truly a campaign by students, for students, and this year’s success reflects that spirit,” said Kierra Mathern (’22), DSU HF Alumni Relations Director. “I’m incredibly proud of our students, who worked tirelessly and passionately to make this happen, and of our entire team and community for showing up in such a powerful way to support Dickinson State University (DSU) student scholarships.”

For the second year in a row the DSU HF completed all set challenges related to the fundraising event. Multiple donations were made from residents of all 50 states by 270 individual donors, completing the 50 States Challenge and the Donor of Dollars Challenge. DSU alumni rallied to complete the Young Alumni Challenge, contributing donation from DSU graduates of the last decade. The Society Challenge raised $11,684 for DSU fine arts students, and the 100 Years of Football Challenge raised $8,895.
DSU HF Executive Director Ty Orton marveled in the event’s ability to generate support for DSU from across the country. "Every year, Give Day reminds us just how special this community is. The way our alumni, friends, and local supporters rally is nothing short of inspiring. Their generosity goes far beyond dollars, it shows how deeply people care about the success of Dickinson State University and the future of our students. We’re truly grateful to live and work in a community that continues to show up, give back, and believe in our mission.”
