Donor Spotlight: Guy and Sandy Moos are Investing in Tomorrow’s Leaders

Guy and Sandy Moos are longtime friends and donors of Dickinson State University. Guy is a lifelong resident of Dickinson whose relationship with Dickinson State University (DSU) started in the 1960’s when he would attend the college basketball games. Sandy moved to Dickinson in 1979 and the two were married not long after in 1984. “The Dickinson community is so very fortunate to have DSU. The university, faculty and its students enhance the fabric of our community and feed our economic engine,” said Guy. Through Baker Boy, the Moos have been the benefactors of many talented DSU graduates. One scholarship from the Moos that makes it all possible is the Baker Boy TRHLP Annual Scholarship.

The Baker Boy TRHLP Annual Scholarship supports DSU students in the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program (TRHLP). In the past, the Moos enjoyed attending TR Scholar Dinners and were impressed by the program and its students. They believe it is important to support the “leaders of tomorrow” and hope to see scholarship recipients with passion, dependability, and determination. The Moos have also enjoyed attending other DSU and DSU Heritage Foundation (DSU HF) events such as plays and athletic competitions, Yule Tyme, and a Boy Scout fundraiser. Their favorite was a DSU HF trip to Ireland.

"Guy and Sandy Moos are role models in the community, embodying the values of gratitude, integrity, and a desire to help the next generation thrive,” said Ty Orton, Executive Director of the DSU HF. “Their support of DSU is a lasting expression of confidence in our students and in the important role the university plays in the Dickinson community."

Guy and Sandy urge current and future scholarship recipients to look to Theodore Roosevelt’s beliefs about life, and to “care deeply, live passionately, dare greatly, and think boldly!” The Moos have just returned from the grand opening celebrations at the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library and are looking forward to helping host the Governor’s Cup in Medora to raise funds for the Career Builders Scholarship program.
