Staff Spotlight: Welcoming LaVonne Sadowsky to the DSU Heritage Foundation

The DSU Heritage Foundation is proud to spotlight LaVonne Sadowsky, Temporary Accounting Assistant, whose enthusiasm and dedication have quickly made her an important part of the team.

Born and raised in Dickinson, LaVonne graduated from South Heart School, where she spent time in Scott Gym attending cheer camps and basketball tournaments. Having taken accounting classes and even tennis at DSU years ago, she has always felt connected to the university. “When this opportunity came up, I took a chance and am SO EXCITED to be a part of DSU and the Heritage Foundation,” she shared. “I love coming in to work, love everyone that I work with, and the work that I do!”

In her role, LaVonne enters scholarship and donation information into spreadsheets, creates bank deposits, and organizes audit paperwork. She notes that teamwork is a hallmark of the Foundation: whether helping Pam prepare for an event, assisting Sarah in the office, or giving Ty feedback, everyone works together to accomplish the task at hand. Recently, she contributed to major events such as President Molander’s Investiture Ceremony, tailgating, and Homecoming. She also takes pride in walking through the Foundation Home, where photographs taken by her family’s business now sit among treasured DSU memories.

Outside of work, LaVonne embraces life in the Badlands. Growing up on a farm north of Dickinson, she now enjoys visiting Medora multiple times each year with her family. Her hobbies include family gatherings, caring for her cats, working on puzzles, “yardening,” sewing, camping, singing loudly to music in the car, attending concerts, and riding ATV with Jim in the South Dakota hills. A proud Blue Hawk supporter, she looks forward to learning more in her role and continuing to serve DSU and its community with pride.
