The Dickinson State University (DSU) Blue Hawks will face Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday, November 23, in the opening round of playoffs at DSU’s Henry Biesiot Activities Center (BAC).

Blue Hawk fans always show up strong, but will they break the attendance record of 3,500 fans set on October 13, 2023? That memorable Homecoming game saw DSU claim a decisive 40-14 victory over the Dakota State Trojans on a sunny 70-degree afternoon.
This Saturday’s temperature won’t come close to that balmy October day. We contacted meteorologist Kevin Lawrence to give us a Blue Hawk forecast. Lawrence reported, “Saturday’s forecast in Dickinson calls for temperatures in the high 20s, winds gusting from the east at 10 to 20 mph, and a slight chance of snow.”

Luckily, the BAC offers 5,500 square feet of indoor space and delicious concession offerings like pulled pork sandwiches, grilled cheeseburgers, and hot chocolate to give a warm reprieve to chilly fans.
Bundle Up, Blue Hawks!
It’s playoff time, and if history is any indication, DSU fans will defy the cold, bring the energy, and pack the BAC. Here are some tips for staying warm in the stands:
Layer Up: Layers, layers, layers! Start with a thermal base, add a sweatshirt and winter coat, and top it off with your best Blue Hawk gear.
Insulated Overalls: Dig out or borrow a pair. Extra points if they are Carhartt.
Hand Warmers Everywhere: Slip them into your mittens, pockets, and boots.
Let’s show Kansas Wesleyan that DSU fans are as tough as they come!

The tailgate party will kick off the festivities at 10:00 AM in the parking lot of the BAC. The Blue Hawks and Coyotes game will begin at 1:00 PM Mountain Time on Saturday, November 23. Game tickets can be purchased at www.dsubluehawks.com/game-day-tickets. General admission pricing is $15 for adults and $10 for students. A limited number of reserved Blue Seat tickets are available as well for $25.
