Celebrating Five Years: Kyle Smith Marks Milestone with DSU Heritage Foundation

For the past five years, Kyle Smith has played an important role in supporting the mission of the DSU Heritage Foundation, helping strengthen connections between Dickinson State University and the alumni, donors, and supporters who make a lasting impact on the institution.

As Kyle celebrates his five-year milestone with the Foundation, he reflects on the experiences, relationships, and growth that have made his journey both meaningful and rewarding.

Looking back on his time with the Foundation, Kyle says one of the most memorable aspects has been witnessing the generosity and dedication of the DSU community.

"Over these past five years, I have continued to be amazed by the amount of people that make giving to DSU a priority," he said.

That commitment from alumni and supporters has reinforced the importance of the Foundation's work and serves as a constant reminder of the powerful impact philanthropy has on students and the university as a whole.

During Kyle's tenure, the DSU Heritage Foundation has experienced significant growth and evolution. From expanding its reach to embracing new ideas and opportunities, the organization has continued to build momentum in support of Dickinson State's future.

"The DSU Heritage Foundation has grown so much over the five years I have been here," Kyle said. "We are innovating and becoming a bigger force for the university. The focus on professional development has helped us all keep pushing the envelope."

Being part of that progress has been especially rewarding for Kyle, who remains motivated by the role Dickinson State played in shaping his own life.

"Dickinson State made a big impact on my life, and that motivates me to keep working to support the next generation," he said.

While the accomplishments and growth of the Foundation stand out, Kyle says it is often the personal connections that have meant the most. Some of his favorite memories are the simple moments shared with colleagues.

"Some of the best conversations or connecting moments with the other members of our team are the early morning conversations over a cup of coffee," he said.

Professionally, Kyle finds great fulfillment in the trust that alumni and supporters place in the Foundation staff.

"The best experience professionally is when donors and supporters call looking for information on things not directly related to the DSU Heritage Foundation," he said. "To feel that trust from them makes it all worth it."

While Kyle remains quick to highlight the generosity of donors and the efforts of his colleagues, his own contributions have not gone unnoticed.

"Kyle has been a strong supporter of DSU Athletics and the Heritage Foundation, bringing enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to everything he does," said Ty Orton, Executive Director of the DSU Heritage Foundation. "His commitment to helping DSU succeed has made a lasting impact over the years."

The recognition reflects the role Kyle has played in helping strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, and supporters while advancing the mission of the Foundation. Through his passion for Dickinson State and willingness to go above and beyond, he has helped create meaningful connections that continue to benefit the university and its students.

As he looks ahead to the future, Kyle remains optimistic about the Foundation's continued growth and the opportunities that lie ahead for Dickinson State University.

"I look forward to us taking that next step and making Dickinson State a proud and exciting place to work and learn," he said.
