Vince Reep began his journey at Dickinson State University in the fall of 1972. Recruited to the Cross Country and Track and Field team, he received both athletic and academic scholarships that supported his studies. In 1976, he graduated with majors in elementary education and mathematics, along with a minor in coaching.

After graduation, Vince devoted the next 41 years of his career to Dickinson Public Schools. He started as a fifth and sixth grade teacher while also coaching track and cross country. Over time, his leadership skills led him to new opportunities. He served as an elementary principal and later took on several administrative roles, including business manager, before retiring as Assistant Superintendent. He left behind a lasting impact on students, staff, and the community.
His commitment to education and service continued through his involvement with the DSU Heritage Foundation Board, where he has been an active member for seven years and currently serves as past president. Vince was inspired to join the board to give back to the university that helped shaped him. Reflecting on his time at DSU, Vince shares, "I had great teachers and coaches which were second to none."

In his role on the board, Vince has focused on providing sound financial management advice. He has worked closely with Director Ty Orton on budgeting, business, and finance matters. His dedication to service also extends beyond the university; in Dickinson, he has contributed to committees aimed at improving quality of life. One highlight was serving as Task Force Committee Chair to help establish the Southwest North Dakota Career and Technical Education Academy, which today serves more than 1,600 students.
Outside of his professional life, Vince and his wife, Pam, have been married for 50 years, and together they have two children and three grandchildren.
Fun Fact: "I don’t know if I have a fun fact people don’t know about me. I’m active in the city with golf, bowling, pickleball, and fun at our lake place. Retirement has been a good job."
