Haylee Culver’s connection to Dickinson State University runs deep. “I took enough dual credits in high school with DSU that I get to call myself an alumni,” she said with a smile. Today, she also serves as an adjunct instructor.

Culver has been a dedicated member of the DSU Heritage Foundation Board for nearly six years, serving as Board President for the past two. Her term will conclude this December. Outside of DSU, she serves on the Yuletyme Committee, the Board of Directors for the Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center, and as an attorney member of the North Dakota Judicial Conference. Professionally, she is a lawyer — “but I’m a good witch, not a bad witch,” she joked.

Reflecting on DSU’s evolution, Culver notes, “DSU has done a great job adapting to the changing landscape of higher education while still maintaining the positive community aspects of a traditional university.” One of her proudest initiatives was helping the Foundation enter charitable gaming, which now supports scholarships and community causes.
Looking ahead, she hopes to see “manageable growth and a continued focus on scholarships for students.” Culver expressed gratitude for her time on the Board, adding, “I’m leaving it in good hands, and I’m so proud of the Foundation team.”
