Homecoming

2019 Homecoming

A time to celebrate with friends and reminisce about your glory days from college. It's also a way to connect with former professors and meet today's students of Dickinson State. For that very reason, we invite all alumni to come back for Homecoming.

The very first Homecoming was celebrated 90 years ago on October 13, 1928. President May led a parade with a football game to follow. The game was the Dickinson State Teacher's College Savages battling the Jamestown Jimmies in which the Jimmies won with a safety in the final minutes of the game. The score was 8-6. After the game, a BBQ and dance took place.

Let those traditions continue and your Blue Hawk PRIDE shine when you attend Homecoming 2019. Homecoming is scheduled for October 17-19.  From banquets to the football game, there are lots of opportunities for our alumni to socialize.  It's a great time to come "home" to Dickinson State University.

For Erv and Marilyn Kessel, it seems that becoming part of the Dickinson State family was inevitable. Both being born and raised in Dickinson, they headed to DSTC after graduating from Dickinson High

Saturday, October 19

The day that everyone has been waiting for has arrived. We invite alumni and friends to come out for the traditional Homecoming festivities as we display our Blue Hawk Pride throughout the community. The Homecoming Parade is always a great way to see this year's royalty court, alumni fellows & honorees, athletic inductees, clubs/organizations, and area businesses.

Join us for the tailgate showcasing various Blue Hawk supporters and fans. This event is hosted by the DSU Heritage Foundation and is free and open to all ages (Photo ID required to gain entry). The tailgate will take place in front of the DSU Ag Building/Rodeo Arena. The tailgate will close at 12:30 PM at which time fans can make their way to the Biesiot Activities Center for the football game. This year's Homecoming honorees will be showcased during a half-time parade of Champions. Following the game, the DSU Heritage Foundation invites all Blue Hawk athletic scholarship supporters (members of the Blue Hawk Booster Club and Blue Hawk Touchdown Club) to the Post-Game Social at the Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge.
